Family Ties Goes Up

Family Ties, a short story about a low-level hood who rips off a New York City Chinese crime lord, went up on Smashwords on February 19, Kindle and PubIt (Nook) on February 24.

After it was published on Kindle, I was amazed to discover what had happened when I woke up the following day:

A sale! And from Britain, as a matter of fact! I feel so, so… so cosmo!

Of course, at 99 cents, no one’s going to get rich any time soon, especially if it’s one sale per day. But this is, as they say, merely a test of the emergency e-pub system…

Ah yes, here’s the cover I made for the story. The wisdom of the gods is that the writer is facile enough to create his own cover. I can barely launch PhotoShop, much less use it, but I gave it the old college try…

I’d say don’t hate it because it’s beautiful… but it ain’t!

More on Family Ties, sales, and covers tomorrow.
